The Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra of the Roza Baglanova State Academic Concert Organization “Qazaqconcert” presented an evening of piano music to the audience.

The concert program featured Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2, selected preludes by Sergei Rachmaninoff, and études by Alexander Scriabin.

The musical evening featured performances by Vladimir Ovchinnikov — People’s Artist of Russia and Bashkortostan, laureate of the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition and the Leeds International Piano Competition — as well as Yuri Bogdanov, Honored Artist of Russia, professor at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, winner of international competitions, and holder of the honorary title “Steinway Artist”.

The Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1991 on the initiative of world-renowned violinist, People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Hero of Labour of Kazakhstan, professor, and the orchestra’s artistic director Aiman Mussakhajayeva.
