03.06.2026

The Folk Show concert took place on the stage of the Roza Baglanova State Academic Concert Organization “Qazaqconcert,” bringing together national musical traditions and contemporary artistic trends.

The concert featured artists of “Qazaqconcert,” including laureate of national and international competitions Yerbol Tazhibaev, renowned kobyz player Olzhas Kurmanbek, as well as the Kazakh State Folk Ensemble “Astana Sazy,” the State Symphony Orchestra of Kazakhstan, and the G-Band quartet.

The Folk Show project demonstrated the richness and diversity of Kazakh musical art. The synthesis of traditional instrumental sound with modern rhythmic interpretations created a unique atmosphere, allowing audiences to explore national culture more deeply and discover a new interpretation of well-known world compositions.

The program was authored and conducted by laureate of national and international competitions Adilet Azbayev. Under his direction, a large-scale concert program was created, showcasing the creative dialogue between tradition and modernity. Kazakh folk music was presented in a new format, combined with global hits, popular film soundtracks, and contemporary-style compositions characterized by improvisational freedom and melodic flexibility.

This artistic synthesis enabled the audience to perceive traditional art in a new light and feel its relevance within the modern musical landscape.

The program included such renowned pieces as “Aday,” “Makhambet,” “Balalyk Shak,” “Makhabbat Beketi,” music from the films Taxi, Pirates of the Caribbean, Troy, Gladiator, as well as Tattoo and Libertango. Thanks to modern arrangements, virtuoso performance, and distinctive sound, each composition gained a new artistic interpretation and evoked a strong emotional response from the audience.
