“Gulder” Ensemble — The Golden Pillar of National Choreography

A gala concert dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the “GULDER” ensemble was held at the Roza Baglanova State Academic Concert Organization “Qazaqconcert,” reports Ult.kz.
The concert program featured specially created exclusive instrumental-choreographic performances, premieres of new choreographic compositions, original songs, successful collaborations with well-known artists, and modern reinterpretations of classical art. Legendary performers and young talents shared the stage.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aibek Sydykov attended the event and delivered a congratulatory letter from Minister Aida Balayeva:
“Over more than half a century, the ensemble has become a shining star of Kazakh culture and has played a significant role in promoting national art worldwide. You preserve the best traditions of folk dance and pass them on from generation to generation. As an integral part of Kazakh culture, the ensemble has made a great contribution to the development of domestic pop art. Today, ‘Gulder’ is widely recognized not only in Kazakhstan but also internationally for its high performance standards. Each of your performances provides audiences with aesthetic pleasure and showcases the richness of Kazakh cultural heritage,” the message reads.
The concert featured People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Roza Rymbayeva, Honored Artist Aizhan Nurmagambetova, Honored Figures of Kazakhstan Zhenis Seidollauly and Aigul Yelshibaeva, laureates of the “Daryn” State Youth Prize Alibek Almadiev and Adilkhan Makin, laureates of national and international competitions Madi Rymbaev, Kuanysh Shalkar, Meruert Bakhyt, the “Astana Sazy” State Folk Ensemble, “Astana Musical” Theatre, ethno-folk ensemble “TURAN,” “Samga” group, and the “Gulder” ensemble.
Special guests included Zhanar Dugalova, ARO, and renowned Kazakh kobyz player Olzhas Kurmanbek.
The ensemble’s chief ballet master is Anvara Sadykova, and its artistic director is Abzal Ospambayev.
The Republican State Youth Pop Ensemble “Gulder” was founded in 1969 by People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Guljikhan Galieva. The ensemble gained wide recognition not only in Kazakhstan but also across the Soviet Union. After its success at the 11th World Festival of Youth and Students in Havana, the ensemble continued to win numerous national and international awards.
The ensemble’s repertoire combines folk music with modern pop-dance productions.
The ensemble has toured worldwide, performing in Moscow, France, Germany, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Ceylon, Belgium, Greece, and many other countries. Among its alumni are People’s Artists of Kazakhstan Roza Rymbayeva, Nagima Yeskaliyeva, Makpal Zhunussova, Kapash Kulsheva, Kalamkas Rakhimova, Honored Artists Aizhan Nurmagambetova and Bakhtiyar Tailakbaev, as well as modern pop stars Madina Saduakasova and Beybit Kuanyshbayev.
